Harold Hunt, M.D
Dr. Hunt was born and raised in northeast Texas. He attended Baylor University where he graduated cum laude earning a bachelor of arts in telecommunications with a minor in chemistry. Dr Hunt subsequently attended the University of Texas Medical School in Houston where he was inducted into Alpha Omega Alpha honor society graduating in the top 5% of his class. He then headed to the northwest where he completed his orthopedic surgery training at Madigan Army Medical Center in Tacoma, Washington graduating in 2003.
As part of Dr. Hunt's 11 years of military service, he served honorably as an orthopedic surgeon at Fort Lewis, Washington and in both Würzburg and Landstuhl, Germany. During his overseas tour, he was deployed to Kosovo and Mosul, Iraq in support of combat troops where he treated hundreds of wounded American soldiers, as well as, Iraqi soldiers and civilians.
Upon completion of his Army career, Dr. Hunt sought additional subspecialty training completing a fellowship in lower extremity reconstruction at Scripps Clinic in La Jolla, California, specializing in primary and revision knee and hip replacements. During his fellowship, he received training in computer navigated joint replacement surgery, minimally-invasive surgical techniques, and gained experience with the latest implants and bearing surfaces currently being used in total joint replacement. Additionally, he received advanced training in knee and ankle osteochondral allograft transplantation from Dr. William Bugbee allowing biologic reconstruction of cartilage injuries with human cadaveric tissue.
Dr. Hunt has a deep and compassionate concern for each of his patients, attempting to treat them as he would a family member. He consistently exceeds expectations by spending the time necessary to thoroughly explain diagnoses and complex procedures, making sure to address all questions while making each patient feel comfortable with his plan of care.
Dr. Hunt is new to Colorado and lives in Highlands Ranch with his beautiful wife and newborn son. He has embraced fatherhood with a passion that has allowed him to become a kid again. When not practicing orthopedics, he enjoys hiking, skiing, biking, wine and travel.
In addition to Dr. Hunt's primary interest in lower extremity reconstruction/joint replacement, he is well versed in sports medicine, arthroscopy (shoulder, knee and ankle), general orthopedic trauma (to include fracture care), cartilage transplantation/reconstruction of the knee and ankle, limb realignment procedures, partial knee replacements and total joint replacements of the knee and hip for advanced arthritis. In addition to being board certified, he is a member of the Society of Military Orthopaedic Surgeons and a fellow of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons.
Patients of all ages are welcome. Dr. Hunt is fluent in English and speaks some Spanish. Office visits can be scheduled with Advanced Orthopedics at our Lincoln Office in
