Growing up in Chicago, sports played a large part in the life of Dr. Chang. A sporting event at the age of 11 led to his interest in orthopedics. During a track meet, Dr. Chang fractured his forearm leading to his first encounter with an orthopedic surgeon. This early event sparked his interest in medicine, specifically in the field of orthopedics.

At the University of Illinois, Dr. Chang continued his education by earning an undergraduate degree in industrial engineering with a minor in bioengineering. After graduation, he entered medical school at Rush University in Chicago.

Realizing the perfect way to blend his interest in biomechanics and medicine, Dr. Chang then entered an orthopedic residency program at the Medical College of Wisconsin in Milwaukee. Advanced training followed in adult joint replacement in Chicago at Rush-Presbyterian-St. Luke's Medical Center.

Upon completion of his training, Dr. Chang joined Advanced Orthopedic and Sports Medicine Specialists to start his orthopedic practice in Denver with a subspecialty interest in hip and knee replacements. He is especially interested in recent advancements in minimally invasive total joint replacement surgery.

Dr. Chang is currently a member of the Colorado Medical Society and a fellow of the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons.

In his spare time, Dr. Chang enjoys outdoor activities such as skiing, hiking, and biking.
