"Dr. Greenberg, a Denver native and East High School alumnus, headed east for his subsequent education. He attended Trinity College in Hartford CT, graduating with honors before moving to New York City for his medical schooling at Columbia University, College of Physicians and Surgeons. He stayed in New York City for both his general surgery training at Columbia University, The Roosevelt Hospital, followed by his orthopedic residency at Cornell University, Hospital for Special Surgery.
Board certified, his orthopedic practice emphasizes his interest in sports medicine and adult reconstructive joint surgery. He is published in both fields, including journal articles and book chapters, and has lectured at national meetings. Dr. Greenberg was one of the original clinical investigators for non cemented hip and knee replacement surgery and had input into the design and technique for current total knee replacement surgery and its instrumentation. At present, he is involved with a national study group critically evaluating new trends in hip and knee replacement surgery including alternative bearing surfaces (e.g., ceramics, an alternative surgical approach) and minimally invasive hip and knee incisions for joint replacements. His background in sports medicine is extensive, having served as team physician for the original Colorado Rockies NHL Club, The Denver Grizzlies AAA baseball team, and the NFL Denver Broncos '81 - '94. He is currently the physician for the Colorado Ballet.
While Dr. Greenberg keeps his staff professional in dealing with patients and their concerns, his style is informal and laced with humor. He prides himself on being an excellent listener and is committed to providing his patients quality personal care, treating the patient not the x-ray.
Wife, kids, dogs and golf are his favorite four letter words!!
