James Lindberg, MD

Dr. Lindberg was born and raised in Oklahoma. He spent most of his early years in Oklahoma City. He went to college and medical school at the University of Oklahoma. He did his internship and residency in Orthopedic Surgery at the University of Southern California at L.A. County Hospital. When he completed his residency in 1981, he moved to Colorado and joined the Denver Clinic. In 1990 he and Dr. Jan Leo started Advanced Orthopedics. Over the years the clinic has grown to include thirteen doctors.

Dr. Lindberg was one of the pioneers of arthroscopic surgery in Denver, Colorado. He has performed more than five thousand arthroscopic procedures of the knee and shoulder. He helped develop tools for hip and knee total joint surgery and was one of the primary investigators for many clinical trials of total hips and total knees. He has delivered many instructional course lectures on hip and knee surgery to both orthopedic surgeons and total joint implant companies.

Currently, Dr. Lindberg specializes in the surgery of the knee, shoulder and hip. He is a board certified orthopedic surgeon and a Fellow of the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgery. He is also a charter member of the Hip and Knee Society.

Dr. Lindberg lives in the Foothills with his wife Marlene. He has three children and two grandchildren. He is an avid saltwater flyfisherman, competitive sporting clay shooter, upland bird hunter and an enthusiastic golfer.
