Dr. Sipple was born, raised and attended college in Minnesota. Like many from the state, he is fond it’s Scandinavian heritage- save the Norwegian accent. He studied English and minored in history as at the University of Minnesota and graduated Phi Beta Kappa. College summers were initially spent working for Pepsi-Cola. Later, he served as a nursing assistant and neonatal researcher at the University of Minnesota Hospital, both of which confirmed his interest in medicine.
While in medical school at Des Moines University, Dr. Sipple founded a student mentoring program with colleagues and was nationally recognized by the ACOFP. The musculoskeletal emphasis of Osteopathic training along with his love of athletics facilitated an interest in Physiatry, also known as physical medicine and rehabilitation.
After internship at the University of Massachusetts Medical Center, Dr. Sipple counts himself fortunate to have pursued residency training at the renowned Rehabilitation Institute of Chicago (RIC), ranked the #1 rehabilitation hospital in the United States every year since 1991 in US News and World Report. Upon graduating, he was appointed faculty at Northwestern Medical School and worked at RIC in orthopedic rehabilitation as well as at RIC’s Center for Pain Management, an American Pain Society Center of Excellence, featured on CNN. He subsequently pursued ACGME accredited fellowship training interventional pain management through Sinai Hospital of Baltimore where he performed over 1000 interventions prior to joining Advanced Orthopedics.
As a Physiatrist, Dr. Sipple specializes in the diagnosis, treatment and rehabilitation of patients with a variety of musculoskeletal, soft tissue, extremity and pain disorders via the use of physical therapy, medications, injections and other non-surgical forms of functional restoration and pain relief. He performs Electromyograpy (EMG) & Nerve Conduction Studies to diagnose nerve disorders such as carpal tunnel, radiculopathy (pinched nerve in the spine) as well as peripheral neuropathy. He also performs full spectrum non-surgical interventional soft tissue, peripheral joint and spinal injections including: X-Ray Guided epidural steroid injections, facet/medial branch injections, radiofrequency ablation, SI joint injections and Spinal Cord Stimulation.
Dr. Sipple’s research in Electromyography and other topics have been published in major journals and he has presented Pain management cases at national meetings. He is a member of numerous professional societies. He is board certified by the American Board of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation and sub-specialty board certified in Pain Medicine.
Dr. Sipple enjoys skiing, reading, cooking with his wife and playing with his recently adopted yellow lab.
Dr. Sipple is Level II Accredited by the Colorado Division of Worker's Compensation.
